FROM THE DESK OF
Looking Ahead ~ Optimistically
Although we anxiously await word from the Bishop's office on a decision which may impact upon our school, it behooves us to place our trust in prayer and our confidence the final outcome will reflect His will. Earlier this week our Diocesan Superintendent of Schools, Sister Helen Jean Kormelink, told a group of Joliet area school principals she, like the rest of us, does not know when an announcement will be forthcoming. However, she also indicated she believes schools will be informed of the Bishop's determination prior to Catholic Schools' Week which begins, Sunday, January 31. Time will tell. We are, in the meantime, forging ahead in a very optimistic fashion; forging ahead as though the Bishop had already granted our most fervent prayer that St. Patrick School be allowed to continue on, unchanged and unchallenged in its century-old mission. Again today, the schedule of activities for Catholic Schools' Week is posted in the Parent Link. You will note, as in years past, Open House will follow Mass on Sunday morning, January 31. This will also present the first opportunity for parents to register their children for the 2010-11 school year. If, we receive late information from the Chancery Office which reflects a substantial change in the operation of our school for the coming year, parents will be notified and requests for a full refund of the $50 registration fee will be honored. Thank you, please continue your prayers for St. Patrick School, and may our Lord also continue His blessings upon our people and our school.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST - Date Change Pancake breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, January 24, after the 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Masses and not during Catholic Schools Week.

Southern Living at HOME
Come to my party at the school!
I am hosting a Southern Living at Home Party on January 31st which will benefit St. Patrick's School. Southern Living at Home focuses on decorating/entertaining/organizing for the home. Normally these parties are held in homes but my house cannot hold all of you! My consultant /friend Nicole Warren and I will be at the Men's Club Chili Dinner being held in the gym on the January 31. Anyone who places an order during the Chili dinner OR pre-orders from the catalog will get 2 free gifts with each purchase of $29.96 or more, AND 20% of the profit will go to our school! Get something nice for your home or for an upcoming gift-giving need, and give back to St. Pats at the same time! If you cannot make it to the Chili dinner and would like to place an order or request a catalog, Nicole can help. Please visit her website at http://www.southernlivingathome.com/shopwithnicole to view the beautiful new spring catalog. Contact her at 815-341-6246 or at bnwarren@sbcglobal.net with questions and your order. Be sure to mention St. Pat's so we get our credit. Your purchase will count towards the order being placed on January 31st, and each order will receive an entry to win the gorgeous Cathedral Luminary pictured on pg. 61 of the catalog (value of 59.96). I will arrange to get your orders to you as soon as they are delivered to me. Please promote this event to your family and friends! Thank you very much!! Eileen Martin
